ES scalpin for the day...+11.75 on 9 trades. Hmmm, I think there's something to this 123 pivot stuff :)

nice charts sir and thank you for sharing the setups.
:)

may ask you, when you enter.. say the bar broke lower thru the 'pivot' signaling a short setup. do you immediately enter at that second? or, do you then, knowing you are about get short, allow (or anticipate) price to retrace a bit and provide an optimal entry?

thank you again.. very helpful

I see how to trade a piscuy123 with the trend but am unsure of how to do it against the trend and what that would look like.

I know it's an "advanced" trade and maybe I shouldn't even be looking at it at this point, but I'm curious can someone mark up a chart showing how to do a 123 counter-trend trade?

Thanks!

It depends, if the signal bar is too long, I might wait for a small retrace, like a couple of ticks or so, but otherwise, I think is better to just take the entry break +1 tick. If you miss one big move cuz it doesn't come back and fill you, it's gonna wipe out any advantage you gained from scraping an extra tick or two out of your previous ones.

Check out my first three shorts and last long on the chart I posted today. Some good examples there.

M,

From the chart that you show, you are looking at the break out trade of trendline. That is an area that our Master Anek does not like. I also like breakout setup, but now more cautious. Master tells us that break out is not confirmed to a new trend until a new swing high/low is formed. Many a times, trendline also acts like springborad, it breaks out a bit and snap back quickly. But when it really breaks, the reward is good.

Secondly we have a lot to learn on the placement of stop as well, on a choppy day, these stops got hit on noise movement. For example, the dragon formation starting at 13:50 yesterday, I got a very good entry for NQ at 2040.0 (close to LOD) at 13;52, the price moved quickly to 2043.0, I moved the stop to 2040.5, the retracement hit my stop at 14:00, after that the price move 45 degree up all the way till 2059. So we have to accept it.

In the past couple days I've lost on almost every trade. Today almost every trade was immediately a loser. It was amazing, but nothing I'm not used to. If I put a stop order in I can pretty much guarantee it will get hit. If I try to hold a trade and let the profits run it reverses so fast I can't get out with any profit. If I take a quick profit to avoid a reversal it keeps running for another 10 points. I'm lost, dazed, and confused.

Anyway I'm attaching 3 charts from today which were losers. Can someone tell me why I should have avoided them?

1st Chart: Bought retracement
2nd Chart: Plan was to let the profits run, but that didn't work
3rd Chart: Entry was wedge breakout, and failure of double bottom. Nice......not !

Amazing enough I haven't lost any money yet...........yet being the important word. I need to turn this around right now.

On this chart I attached where would you enter a short? If I was watching in real time I would probably have shorted where the middle of the W is taken out just after the trendline break.

That would have sucked because it immediately shot back up 5 points. Obviously the best entry would have been at the highest point, but what should I be looking for?

Thanks chili! Just to make sure I'm reading the charts and understand the rules correctly... we would get a signal to do a 123 counter-trend trade in an uptrend when the 2nd LH bar is formed which becomes the signal bar. Short entry would be the break of the 2nd LH signal bar's low by the 3rd LH bar?

Anek,

In the chat room, we obviously noted you caught two days of dragon formation on a row. We are all very glad.

However, these two days, the intraday downward movement was a lot, 40 and 20 points of NQ respectively. You only went for bullist setup on these two days. Are you biased ?

This is an area that we could learn a lot from the master.
