Modified HA Bars

Use on OHLC Bars not candles.

Some tips:

Blue body at the low of the bar, strong uptrend

Red body at the high of the bar, strong downtrend.

Small body in the middle "color not that important" might signify trend fading, the smaller the more indecision.

Yellow indicates a possible transition or pause. Multiple yellows highly possible trend
change.

Notice how color rarely changes without a yellow in between.

Piscuy is the resident expert on these bars, he bled the market using them for a long time.

I'm used to this type of trading. I used to trade AAPL all the time with the quick in/ quick out method. Although I didn't know it was called scalping until recently.

I didn't have any standard system either, so after many many weeks of winning huge, I started losing and lost my confidence. So I went back to the drawing board.

So far I much prefer futures.
 
I would love a new thread Piscuy. It would also keep the threads focussed. As I had mentioned to Anek a while ago, They are both excellent styles, but I seem to be attracted to your style due to my trade time constraints as I "still" work full time. I would love to learn a method where I can bang out trades the first 2 hours and then leave for work regretfully.

I appreciate it a lot Piscuy and Anek. Cut hmmmm... Let me make money and you never know !!!

Hat's off to you Anekdoten and all contributors, this journal is terrific. I have learnt so much, and I'm only on page 69!

Today was the first day papertrading the ES, and I managed to scalp out 22 points from 4 winners and 3 losers. Only using price and stochastic (and a bit of HA to confirm trade continuation), thanks to your clear and meaningful advice.

Hi,

I have a bit of a concern.......seems like right now the trending action and large swings / ranges are making things 'very easy' right now if one follows the plan......I don't think it's normal for people to be pulling out +30 NQ and ES points on any given day.....the reality is if one could pull out 30 ES points per MONTH one could become a millionaire (based on the size one is capable with due to ES liquidity).

I guess the whole point of my post was to ask some of the people that have been around for years trading the futures markets if this is normal action we are seeing or if things are indeed 'very easy' right now ?

I was not trading this method earlier in the year but looking back at a daily chart of the NQ I see significantly smaller bars which has me wondering if one takes 2 - 3 small losing trades for 1 - 2 points if the eventual +5 point move will be there to turn the day profitable or if the smaller ranges will create lots more headache.

It's almost like it's all too good to be true and someone is about to change the rules.......

All thoughts welcome :D

If the market changes you adapt. If it is trending you play trends, if its ranging you play bounces. Adaptation is what makes or kills a trader. Now I dont wonder about what tomorrow might be like, I know what I can do today and will worry about getting the most out of tomorrow when I get there. The market is dinamic, so should we be.
