Anek, great thread here.

I just wanted to inform those of you who switched from ym to nq because of ecbot problems that the ym move from ecbot to globex is scheduled for january 13.

Anek, one thing that really interests me: you seem to be trading a huge amount of contracts, how would you hedge your position for example if globex were to go down? Would you hedge any open nq positions through the pit contract? The problem for small one or two lot traders is that the pit contract is to big (5:1 for nasdaq). That´s one reason why i like the ym, you can easily hedge 2 ym with one indu (the pit traded dow contract).

I don't trade huge amounts, I only get to substantial positions when I'm averaging up and the trend is to die for.

Don't bother with hedging. When I used to trade the YM I would hedge with ES but since I switched to CME I've had absolutely no problems.

Anek and others...what do you think on the below?...I can only trade off of minute charts...not tick charts...answer in light of minute charts...thanks...read below...

NQ emini daytrade Trendline "broke"...when enter on 5 minute chart?...what is the trigger?...I.e...how many times close on higher or lower bar after trendline break?

"how long" until NQ (emini) trendline becomes"valid"??..meaning from tops or bottoms for how long?...5 minutes, 1 hour, 2hours?...please chime in with your expertise....thanks

I,

It's all in the journal. As far as time based charts, I don't like them except for an anchor reference.

For trendline breaks you must examine the previous swings, please read all of my work, it's all in here.

just for the record today I traded 1 contract trying to use
the scalp method explained by Piscuy (or what I think I have understood of it) with my exit rules , since he didnt explain that part yet

This is the result:
38 trades = $167.20 commissions

gross profit $660

net profit $492.8

I was able to let some trades run , 3 trades made respectively + 11.75, +9 and +13.5 .

Gross point 33, as you can see letting those 3 trades run made the whole difference.

I'm very stressed and I'm too tired to post my charts (sorry), It's been mentally painful to be disciplined, and I'm paying the toll right now.

See ya tomm.

edit the trades were 38 not 33 , the number is now correct

Mark,

Sounds like Piscuy's typical daily performance except for the car size.

Very prudent of you to start a new method with minimal car size, which reminds me, why so stressed when trading 1 NQ considering you have moderate trading experience.

Heh, yes, the stress was not caused by the car size, but I've been extremely focused the whole day trying to execute the trades exactly as explainded by Piscuy.

As you can see I didn't post today to keep my concentration at its max. I hope tomorrow will be more relaxed.

Going to bed now, I've finished all my energies, shees.

It's a new method, give yourself a pad on the back for making money on the first day.

It's like going to your first day of school and making love to your new hot looking teacher :D

We can go over some of your trades. What time frame are you trading? That is extremely important since the lower the time frame the more trades it will generate. Just so you know, This is one of my trading methods. I trade what I am able to see, I take the opportunities as they come. In combination with other price patterns they give you the earliest entries. For example, a double top or bottom that is forming.
I am glad that you made some profits today, it was the first day. The stress issue will diminish with time as you get comfortable with the time frame and the trading style. Congratulations, job well done.

P.

P.S: Now you know that it works. The question that remains is if your comfortable trading it or not?
