You are correct, in my case I hardly make trades any more, but with automation and staff of six allows me to travel. In all the decades I manually traded to get good and build my accounts, never took vacations or time off, at my age now, I want to see what I missed with last wife. I only trade futures, options on futures and stocks and long term forex. Still do scalping and hourly futures trading, own seats to keep fees low, I will never close up shop, gave up too much in my life to get good.

Most traders never get to point of trading is a real business.
This. It takes decades to get good if you are not working in a professional environment. And even then, it takes time. Just looking to make my second fortune and deploy it to family, friends, and good causes. It would take a year just to read all the books I have gone through. We also understand a lot more about the world, ourselves and how we fit into it. That all takes time, but it is what life is about.

What your trading style is. That's very important to a trader so one can create trading strategies that best fit your trading style.

I am 55 years old. None of the responses in the poll is accurate for me.

Reminds of when I applied for a library card when I was 17 years old.

There were only two options to check on the form:

____ Under 17

____ 18 and over

The library lady became very upset when I refused to check either box

Well you were right not to check either box because neither box applied to you. Not your problem that they didn't design that form well. What are you supposed to do? Lie about your age just to cater to their stupidity? Remember what your mama told ya. Cheaters never win!

51% or the majority of voters are 55+, i.e., the over the hill gang. :p

Perhaps OP can add a few more categories, like 65+, 75+ and 90+.

And I love to meet the one and only under 18 trader.

Thanks for your suggestion, we have read all the comments and felt sorry for the inconvenience in our post, so we edited it :D
Have a nice day!

The modal active ET member is a retiree with time on their hands who doesn't trade with meaningful amounts of capital, if at all.
You think so?

The reality:

Americans have roughly $156 trillion in assets, according to Visual Capitalist, but half of that wealth — $78.1 trillion — belongs to the baby boomers. The rest is spread out across Generation X, the Silent Generation and Millennials.
