Ag trade ideas

Some pretty interesting action on these soybean spreads today. Funds are heavily short w/ a big USDA report on Tuesday. Looks like they are covering some of those positions.

+5? Perhaps in late Feb...I can't see Mar/May go over 0 before Jan expiration but I might make an error. Brazilian supplies keep May/Jul around -7...

I think cattle are hanging in there amazingly well despite the volatility in the stock market. I don't care how cold it gets, people are buying steak if their 401ks and IRAs are dropping in value significantly.

I had a long white/ short raw sugar spread on standby last week and I decided to wait a bit for a better price...Perhaps that wasn't my best investment decision of 2015...LOL

You mean they buy less steak where they 401 k is down ?
I think commo ag prices are much more driven by offer than demand. And even offer explain few of the short term volatility :(

That's an impressive move ! WMAY16-SBMAY16 went from 50 €/t in june to 92 €/t !
Why you were ready to buy this spread ?

I just bought EBMMAY16 !
Markets are panicking, everyone consider so much stocks even if stocks are kind of average.
We are also on a strong support.

One of my few directional trade. I hope that I have some edge in directional trading ;)
