Mark B Fisher, a very great and succesful trader, will tell you that of all the people he trained those who fail the most are those with degrees. The more degrees the higher the failure rate.

Not anymore. He hires quants now. That was 30 years ago when guys on the floor of the NYMEX were front running brokers.

The quant is just a resource. What good is the quant without the seasoned/undereducated trader?

Why do quants work with traders? Why not just with each other? Serious question. Someone else care to chime in??

Unfortunately, reality proves that myth completely wrong in today 's market.

Yeah , 25 years ago it was probably correct-- but today, the educated OWN the markets.

I have no programming or advanced math skills but I'm still surviving as a retail daytrader. I have hired programmers though. To each his own I guess
