Advertisers Ditching Laura Ingraham’s Show Over Attack On Parkland Survivor

Laura takes a week off.

Laura Ingraham Announces Week Off Air As Advertisers Flee
Almost a dozen advertisers have dropped her Fox News show after she mocked a teenage survivor of the Florida school massacre.

(Reuters) - Fox News show host Laura Ingraham announced on her show late Friday that she is taking next week off, after almost a dozen advertisers dropped her show after the conservative pundit mocked a teenage survivor of the Florida school massacre on Twitter.

Eleven companies so far have pulled their ads after a pushback by Parkland student David Hogg, 17, who called for a boycott of her advertisers.

Hogg took aim at the host’s show, “Ingraham Angle”, after she taunted him on Twitter on Wednesday, accusing him of whining about being rejected by four colleges to which he had applied.

Hogg is a survivor of the Feb. 14 mass shooting that killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the Parkland suburb of Fort Lauderdale. He and other classmates have become the faces of a new youth-led movement calling for tighter restrictions on firearms.

Hogg tweeted a list of a dozen companies that advertise on “The Ingraham Angle” and urged his supporters to demand that they cancel their ads.

On Thursday, Ingraham tweeted an apology “in the spirit of Holy Week,” saying she was sorry for any hurt or upset she had caused Hogg or any of the “brave victims” of Parkland.

But her apology did not stop companies from departing.

The companies announcing that they are cancelling their ads are: Nutrish, the pet food line created by celebrity chef Rachael Ray, travel website TripAdvisor Inc, online home furnishings seller Wayfair Inc, the world’s largest packaged food company, Nestle SA, online streaming service Hulu, travel website Expedia Group Inc and online personal shopping service Stitch Fix.

According to CBS News, four other companies joined the list Friday: the home office supply store Office Depot, the dieting company Jenny Craig, the Atlantis, Paradise Island resort and Johnson & Johnson which produces pharmaceuticals as well as consumer products such as Band-Aids, Neutrogena beauty products and Tylenol.

The idiocy of social media claims another victim.
When are people going to realize how fucking stupid TWTR, FB, SNAP, etc are?

Social media can be a huge, productivity crushing time sink for undisciplined or addicted participants.

In addition, sometimes silly notions catch on like some sort of social or intellectual virus. An person or entity that has an agenda can cheaply influence the opinions of the masses.

The Liberals have a decisive political advantage in the social media arena due to demographics and socioeconomics over the Conservatives. I visualize the difference in political effectiveness of social media as a Conservative businessman showing up in a suit to a party in the ‘hood trying to look cool and trying fit in. Out of necessity, Conservatives will be forced to make positive, people friendly changes to their message brought on by social pressure.

The exchange of ideas among a broad spectrum of people has never been easier and we all can get the benefit of other peoples experience, knowledge, and creativity. This exchange of ideas leads to an acceleration of technology, an acceleration of social change, and individual employment and fulfillment opportunities. I see social media as a path towards true Democracy with government conduct becoming more representative to what their constituents want.

Conservatives can become greater contributors to social media benefiting everyone. Defective political ideas and characters have the potential to be diminished or weeded out by this platform leading to potentially better conduct of the participants.

I know there are too many examples on social media, including EliteTrader, of participants giving bad information or being mean to someone. However, those people who consistently display their weakness in intellect and character enjoy less credibility among the other members.

In order for an individual to get the most out of social media, they need to develop the ability to effectively sift through information and be able to perform their own research.

When the Liberals get too far out in Left field, it is our Conservative duty to call them out on it and if necessary, boycott their advertisers as well. This does take our own personal time and effort in organizing, but it is a critical part of modern civic duty.

Have a kosher and joyous Passover, paper trader! I see that exposing you in the link below has really gotten to you. Maybe you should keep it real next time you come to a trading forum.

No, not really fake Jew. I shall post it myself if that helps ;) Remember I am studying YOUR Dunning Kruger effect, not trading. Your attempt at retaliation fools nobody who is a trader. Explain why a 'paper' account would have a glitch in the commissions, not just make wild swipes about it seems too much money to you.

Do you have actual experience trading Futures or are you some nut who thinks he knows something from a bit skimming stocks?

Have you looked at the daily/monthly chart for those days? Notice something about it? If you are a trader you will be able to describe what you see.

If not, and you have said you just came to politics for an argument.. you are a severe clinical case of the Dunning Kruger effect as I have said. :) At least look at the chart and you will see how that day went. But if you are not actually smart... not chicken McFly are you?

Most ET traders are timid, beginners like yourself don't know their ass from their elbow, mixing forex, futures, stocks and more up. A stock trader will say something can't be done when perfectly easy in futures. It is nuts how sloppy amateur traders are. The usually can't trade big because their nerves can't handle it. Have I ever struck you as nervous? haha

I saw this recently and thought it would be good for my assistant's little girl who wants to be a trader like her mommy, I think you might need one.

For all the critics I'm sure this banshee yelled at in her show, one in the chin and lights out by the first tweet of a teenager. It's rather beautiful.

I just love the way another con commentator accused that lad of 'bullying' her by not accepting her apology. They have no shame whatever.
