Trump: Briefing Room Will Stay In White House

President-elect Donald Trump said his administration will not move the press briefing room out of the White House into a larger space but will choose the media representatives who go into it, according to an interview with Fox News.

Trump’s team had discussed moving news conferences out of the small West Wing briefing room to the Old Executive Office Building, which is part of the White House complex, incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus said Sunday on ABC.

“The press went crazy, so I said, ‘Let’s not move it.’ But some people in the press will not be able to get in,” Trump told “Fox & Friends” in an interview broadcast on Wednesday

LOL, classic Trump misdirection ploy and they fell right into it. His opening offer was to move them out of the WH, which set off a wave of fear and paranoia. You see, anyone who has WH access parades around town with their credentials around their neck like they are at a golf tournament or something. Look at me, look how important I am. Very prevalent at expensive lunch spots around the WH.

By threatening to take that away, Trump set them up for his real objective, limiting access. Sorry CNN, you're not on the list this week. Haha, maybe not next week either. WashPost? Nope. Now he will have them fighting each other for the limited spots.

ever buy from a builder?

its a variation on the take away close.
That lot or condo with the view that you wanted for 100 grand less than ask.

Misdirection or instability?

Trump manipulates these people like they are his puppets. The rest of us find it hilarious, but they are too pompous to even realize what is happening. That makes it even funnier for us.

you were the one acting like he bumbled into it.
i was letting you know that it was a common developer close.
trump did write the art of the deal. he at least thinks about this stuff.
for the last 35 years...you lefties are telling us a peanut farmer is nuclear engineer (he was not) and the republican is dumb. Trump is not dumb.

How cool for you guys in the know. And here I thought that he was just making it up as he was going along.

That's not entirely true. Actually, scratch that, it's an absolute fabrication.

Nice turn of phrase but poor analogy. Being a journalist requires little in the way of basic skills, plus the people being put forward as professional journalists have routinely breached even the low standards of their so-called profession.

For example, the WashPost, probably second only to the NYT in terms of self-adulation, published not one but two laughably fake articles recently. One accused numerous legit websites of being in cahoots with Russian disinformation campaigns. It turned out that the "reporting" behind the story consisted of relying entirely on a report produced by an unknown internet site. The Post had to shamefacedly withdraw the story after threats of litigation.

The other was even more outrageous. In the midst of the Russian hacking fake news controversy, they published an alarmist story that the nation's electric power grid had been hacked by Russia. Turned out it was completely false. One laptop, not connected to the grid or anything else, supposedly had malware that "could" have come from Russian sources. Like Podesta's email hack ,it also could have come from a potentially infinite list of other sources, since it was commercially available on hacker sites.

The public despises the media elites and for good reason. They see these self-appointed arbiters of truth and news as dishonest, biased, petty, vindictive and increasingly more interested in pushing radical agendas than doing their jobs.

They retracted a story that was not thoroughly fact-checked? Wow, how unethical. I wonder how many stories the likes of breitbart or zerohedge have retracted?

You can blame the media for whoring themselves out ala fox news all you want, but I'll put my money on the guys that went to college for their craft. When you compare the legitimacy of the NY times, Wash. Post, or Reuters to the dime a dozen blogs that are breitbart, zerohedge, or infowars there's not even a starting point for debate. It'd be like trying to teach a kid algebra when he's hell bent on insisting 2+2=5.
