I would like to add more hardware, so I can do real-time calculations, analysis and watch more charts at the same time.

I wonder if I should simply add more monitors, or add more PCs.

If I'm going to add monitors only, how can I assign more than 1 monitor to the same PC? How many monitors at max can I add to the same PC.

Thank you. :)

If I were you, I would add another monitor for now. And then when Windows Vista comes out in 6 months, then you can buy a brand new computer.

Suggest you check out the Nvidia Quadro NVS line. I believe they will display higher DVI resolution, if applicable.

Thanks for the advice. I consider getting this one:

I just hesitate and want to make sure I don't have any hardware issues after I get it. That's my motherboard:

Should work, right?

Thanks to anyone taking a look at it.

Don't know where else tom post this. Does anyone have an opinion or has anyone here bought Austin Passamonte's method. His site is coiledmarkets.com.

you give off the impression of putting very little value on time and convenience.

Pardon? You think that just because I didn't drop $2500 on my rig that it's sub-par?

Well.... it should work because you have a PCIEx16 slot. That you have onboard video potentially complicates the issue... not only for the Quadro NVS but for any other video card.

But go ahead and try it. Worst that should happen is that you have to get a different computer.... one not cheapened by onboard video.

Windows Vista... I'm not sure if I should upgrade to it when it releases.

Can most applications and software be migrated to this new system?

I don't know how anyone can do with one computer these days. I have ten computers and six monitors, and I often whished I had more of both.

Excuse me. How come you get 10 computers but only 6 monitors?

Why do you need so many computers?

You can have 8 (or is it 10?) monitors on one PC... it's a Windows XP maximum limitation.

All you need is a mobo with enough of the right kinds of slots to insert enough of the right kinds of video cards to run the size and kind of monitors you wish to run. DVI or VGA? 19", 20", or bigger/widescreen?

Tell the board what you have and we'll offer solutions...

PCIE or AGP mobo.. or, "onboard video" (hope not)

How many PCI or PCIE slots are open?

I don't know much about the technicals.

My mobo: A7N8X-X
(The link contains all the specifications. Please take a look!)

I have:
1 VGA port
1 S-Video port
1 DVI output port

I think I can only get 1 extra monitor. Do I need to buy one video card per one monitor (I have 3 PCI slots left)?
