Adam's Vol Edge Trading Journal

Trade 2-

Long the SPX Jan31/Feb07 3325/3360 Call Diagonal from -0.25 cr

Can personally vouch for this one. Picked up a good number of something very similar after Doobs posted. Will probably keep this on the books until the shorts expire and then either close the back strike or scalp it's gamma; TBD.

It's easy to put on winning vol trades but this was good money considering the payout vs. the circumstances needed for it to become a loser.

At least someone here like free monies. You're very welcome!

I am out of Trades 3 & 4 (AAPL), including shares. I also added an SPX trade for next week. I'll post screenshots later this afternoon.

Adam,

I'm trying to figure out what you mean by

"I closed for 84.00 risk (66.00 cr)"

What's this 84 number? Your total risk compared to the amount of credit you received?

In order to stay consistent, I always quote flies in terms of “risk” or debit (amount at risk in trade).

So for a 150-wide fly, Risk = 150 - 66 cr = 84.00

I hate to post trades ex post facto. My goal is to post trades at marketable, fillable prices. But since I was busy at the close yesterday, I wasn’t able to (read = I forgot). Anyway,

Primary account is LVX, I also use TOS and IB. All my analytical tools are of my own design (Excel with LiveVol data). Screenshots are from LiveVol Pro. I’ll post some examples of my tools later today.

I'm guessing that's the higher priced version of LVX ($300/mth) and not the cheaper version by Lightspeed Trading?

As far as I know, there is only one LVX, and we offer it today with custody at Interactive Brokers. We hope to offer it soon with custody at WEDBUSH SECURITIES. The LiveVolPro analytical program is owned by the CBOE and does not provide execution only Analytics. Shoot me an email if you’d like to try a demo.
