Adams declares State of Emergency in NYC after migrants overwhelm city

I have regularly posted my points on proposed immigration policy — aligned with the above. You are free to go back and read my personal proposal which has been posted multiple times over the years.
I have, and you were not.

You make some good points. The reality is the changing demographics in the U.S. and western countries will require more immigration. Simply to keep our economies and benefit systems afloat.

I expect in 50 or 60 years the U.S. will be in the position of urging Hispanic immigrants from Mexico and Central American countries to come to the U.S. In many ways these people would be excellent additions to our economy; they work hard and over time fit in culturally.

Despite all the right-wing villainizing these immigrants currently -- the reality is that very few of them are criminals -- most are hard-working decent people who want to come to the U.S. for improved economic opportunity and to escape violence back in their countries.

The U.S. needs full immigration reform. We should put programs in place to give these immigrants a Visa if they can fill a job role that adds to our economy.

We should also require these immigrants take English lessons (paid for by the government) so they can integrate in our society and are not treated as second-class residents.

One other approach is since the U.S. is offshoring all of its industry, stop looking to China and India and look to set up plants and centers in Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador (and Cuba in my opinion). Bringing economic prosperity to those countries and getting more competitive labor and production without the bullshit of Asia shipping lanes (as we saw during COVID) will keep more people in those countries getting the American dream rather than running here for it. Partnership with private business and those governments will ensure development and foreign direct investment. Set up a few free trade zones and Asian entities will move production there as well.

Most people judge those countries based on who crosses the border (significantly poor) rather than the average citizen there who is educated, can speak english with more training, and represents a good work force.

Makes no sense we're willing to build up w/commie China and Vietnam but not commie Cuba and leftist Venezuela.

Honestly, much of your opinions have sounded like this in the past:
Opioid epidemic and scaravans are back y'all

Let's take a walk down memory lane outlining my posts regarding immigration. My personal position has been very consistent and clear for a long period of time. Some of the highlights include having current illegal immigrants in the U.S. obtain a visa to stay in the country so they are here "legally", reforming the immigration system to allow more legal immigrants into the U.S. legally, and stopping illegal immigrants from pouring over the border.

Let's start with this post from 2012 as an example -

Then let's take a look on my perspective on immigration to Canada in 2014 -

Let's take a look a more complete summary of my points about proposed immigration policy -

It is interesting to note that you were called out directly in the above post under your former user name, H4M, for deliberately using selective quoting to misrepresent my position on immigration. Trying to present a view that is exactly 180 degrees opposite of what I actually stated.

A post on how to stop the illegal immigration surge at the southern border -

Of course as stated in this post -- no one in this forum really want to address or debate the actual issues with immigration policy -
https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/the-border-crisis-on-steroids.356912/page-23#post-5400120

Some additional statements about the need for immigration reform -

At this point I am done with your selective quotation and misrepresentation when it comes to my views and perspectives. It is abusive and childish on your part. The post I responded to here is also an example of this absurd behavior by you.

At this point if there is one more instance of this type of abusive behavior from you directed at me then you will be put on block/ignore.

Cuba is the biggest blunder perpeuated by 50,000 citizens of the U.S. Cuba has a pretty educated population and quite trainable and significant undeveloped land and port resources to become an offshore industrial development and service center for the U.S., not to mention tourism. Dems try to win elections reducing basic sanctions and nothing more nad GOP win elections increasing sanctions. It is a silly game.

100% of cubans not in the government just want a life like everyone else. China is already building hotels in the past 10 years and any new car you see is Chinese. the nicest hotels are european while U.S. is just miles away.
