The Sochi Winter Olympics has really brought out the absurdity of the global warming alarmists crowd.
Here is the reality. Sochi is a sub-tropical city was used as a vacation resort by Soviet dictators. The average February temperature in Sochi is 50 degrees F (10 degrees F) which is warmer than our area of North Carolina. This is high winter temperature is very beneficial to the palm trees that line Sochi's Mayors Allee venue that were planted by mayors from cities around the world.
Did Sochi have snow last winter? No. How about the winter before? No. How about in the 1980s? No. How about in the 1930s when Stalin used it? No. How about in the 1800s? No. How about in the 1300s when it was listed in Russian church literature as a warm tropical posting? No.
Then why are all the global warming alarmists making such a fuss over that there is no natural snow at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
The most absurd statements are coming from University of Waterloo climatologist Daniel Scott who claims by 2050 only 10 of the 19 cities that have hosted the Winter Games would be cold enough to do it again, and by 2100 that number drops to 6.
Lake Placid will not have any snow, eh? Buffalo, NY will not have any snow by 2050? Anyone who claims this is totally off their rocker. This is a bet I would take in Vegas and be an easy winner in about 40 years.

From the bridge of the Coast Guard cutter Mackinaw, northern Lake Huron looks like a vast, snow-covered field dotted with ice slabs as big as boulders -- battleground for the icebreaker's 58-member crew during one of the roughest winters in memory.
It's been so bitterly cold for so long in the Upper Midwest that the Great Lakes are almost completely covered with ice. The last time they came this close was in 1994, when 94 percent of the lakes' surface was frozen.
