fareastcoast - great point. Of the data providers you tested, which are "push" and which are "pull"?
Also, still interested to hear if anyone has used QuoteCenter...
Quote from fareastcoast:
The other product I investigated is the Elektron (http://thomsonreuters.com/products_services/financial/financial_products/a-z/elektron_real_time/)
They said it would be possible to do a trial, but the pricing was through the roof so I didn't bother setting it up. For the price they are asking though, I'm sure it works and they will offer good support...
Quote from Tcl:
all of them are streamers , thus push
barchart
iqfeed
AT
IB
i dont know where you think any of them could be pull
Some Corrections:Quote from fareastcoast:
iqfeed is cheap, but it is capped to 500 symbols. if you want more than that, you are out of luck. 1 second update interval is also rather slow for some applications.
Quote from sle:
I am thinking of using a backup provider, e.g. ActiveTick given that it's so cheap, but could not establish if they provide equity/index option quotes. [/B]
Was this with the RealTimeBars or the streaming quote subscription ?
4. IB. Comparing a recorded sequence of trades against the NASDAQ-on-demand history for the same symbol and day reveals some interesting discrepancies - the total volume for the day matches within like 1%, while individual trades are often missing, while others are reported with a larger trade size and yet some other cannot even be found in the NASDAQ master.
