Account closure with IB

Hi

Do you know how long it takes for the account closure request to be processed ?

Does it matter if there's an open virtual fx position showing on the account (but all the assets in the account are already converted in base currency ?)

I should perhaps add that I just requested yesterday the account closure, I'm just wondering how long it should take - and wether there's something wrong with an open virtual position.
 
A virtual fX position is just a trade management tool. It won't have any impact on account closure. In fact, you can wipe it out by right clicking the virtual position in TWS and selecting the option that allows you to change the value. Just change it to zero.
 
Thanks Hurricane, I just set some virtual position to 0 on my active IB account following your post.

Indeed the virtual fx position posed no problem for the account closure as it's been finalized (Just waiting for the remaining funds to reach my source account, which shouldn't be long)
