Cardiac side effects from Hydroxychoroquine only occur in prolonged usage. Much much more than 5 days. ---More like months.-----Try again----case dismissed.

Yeh, more precisely though, these would be or should be malpractice suits against the physicians. It is hard to prove liability against a drugmaker when the physician did not follow prescribing guidelines which required him/her to check the patients cardiac history/status, and where the prescribing guidelines stated that cardiac problems would be a counterindicator.

I mean that's where you end out in these lawsuits. As a practical matter though you go after whoever has the bucks which usually requires taking a shot at the drugmaker too.

Whenever we find whatever the best drug/drugs are for covid, the drugmaker and prescribing physicians will be sued rather regularly for that too. It's just how we roll in this country. And all of the major, commonly prescribed drugs on the market have counter indications and potential serious side effects, so that is not by any means a show-stopper to wide use.
 
Drug companies have deeper pockets than doctors so no matter what, the drug companies will be sued. Doctors will always fall back on the fact that they prescribed the medicine based on medical guidelines and heart attack was a known side effect of the medicine and is often seen as a defect to be sued over. Should be a long run in the court system given all the changing medical science and conflicting studies. lawyers for both sides will be able to make good cases.

That's not true, the drug can trigger heart arrhythmia's without prolonged usage. There is a specific amount of risk for each patient. I think you have your own self interests in mind with this drug and the lockdown.

Not true. They'd only have to convince a jury that the drugmaker was at fault. And juries are NOT scientifically neutral. Hell, most jurors think science means worms, clouds and space.
