In California we have the proposition system, which in effect makes everyone who is registered to vote a legislator. I've got a couple of tax increases I need to vote against. Oddly enough, many of my fellow voters/legislators are going to vote to have more money taken out of their pocket. I can only assume that they have been taken in by the BS that Governor Brown has given them, in that we do not pay enough taxes already.

So, it's not just a question of voting your conscience if you are a Californian, you are a legislator voting on your own well being. You are pretty much forced to vote whether you want to or not.

My presidential vote will be cast for Mitt Romney, but not because I desire to see him in the White House. It's because I want Obama removed. And Ryan's logic is correct in that a vote for Ron Paul most likely came from a Republica, in essence helping to keep Obama in office. If your conscience tells you to remove Obama, they you must vote Romney.
