A success story

Almost two years, no real long vs short bias, it's 67%long/33%short

You have a good point about the 7/5 spread. Currently 5 points about .40%. So going forward, maybe I should have my Excel tell me the spread to use based on finding .40% of the current SP500. Makes sense why 7/5 works now... the SP500 usually moves .40% in a day but not in an instant (not too big of a spread, not too small)

are you still profitable? usually people make money in a bull market right?

my big thing is i cut my winners too soon too, but i dont know what a good exit is.

There is nothing magical about 7/5. It is a very realistic, sober view of what the market can give you.

he has imposed some discipline in his trading. So now he is programmed to find those setups that will produce a tighter range of expectancies. Who hasn't ruined his day by not pulling the plug on a bad runner?

Is there a 10/1 setup? Sure, but it's very rare and the loosing streak can probably lead to ruin.

I'm sorry, this is very unrealistic.

such a simplistic approach won't work well on the very efficient ES.

don't propogate the pipe dream even more.

That's the path of a newbie to moderate trader. Can you find the next step up to excellent trader though ? The slope up gets steeper imho
