A sad day for journalism, Bill O'Reily retires

So what you are saying is you think Fox News should have kept this guy and that Ailes guy on the job and you'd be 100% comfortable if your wife or daughter were direct reports to either one of them ?
He didn't say anything remotely close to that.

If I had unlimited funds and I wanted to conquer/develop the world the very first thing I would buy is a pen/paper/printing press/tv station/media. Communication. I think communication even precedes sales. If it didn't why would they pay so much to advertise?

Well, well, well. We know who went after O'Reilly.

"The sun was setting in New York as James Murdoch, looking confident in cream pants and a dark blazer, stepped before 350 guests in a glass-walled concert hall and waxed poetic about his pet TV channel and its dedication to “scientific literacy.”

The event on Wednesday night was an advertising showcase for National Geographic, which Mr. Murdoch, 44, has doted on since becoming chief executive of its parent company, 21st Century Fox. As a person who cares deeply about “issues related to the environment, conservation, exploration and education,” he told the crowd, “I’m personally grateful for the important work National Geographic does.”

Across town at that same moment, his 86-year-old father, Rupert — who once called climate change “alarmist nonsense” — was still dealing with fallout at his most cherished channel, Fox News. Bill O’Reilly, the pugnacious and top-rated talk show host, had been ousted that day after allegations of sexual harassment involving multiple women.

It was James Murdoch — the one looking so unperturbed at the NatGeo presentation, posing for photos as waiters milled about in yellow suspenders and guests ate skirt steak and shrimp cocktail — who had most aggressively moved against Mr. O’Reilly. The same had happened in July, when Roger Ailes, who founded Fox News with Rupert Murdoch, was forced to resign amid his own sexual harassment scandal."

Nobody cares how it happened, just that it happened. Plus your quote only wants to link his tree hugger son to ousting O'reilly w/o any proof of animosity.

Are you questioning the New York Slimes? A leftist questioning the New York Slimes is like a born again Christian questioning the Bible. It just doesn't happen.

demographics, When fox started about 40% of Americans were conservative with nothing that didn't have a liberal point of view news to watch. Most of them were of Baby Boomer age. The baby boomers are dying off and youngsters are always liberal. However, youngsters become oldsters and as they do they become more conservative. Fox has a few libertarians, and that is their only hope going forward, there is ample crossover between republicans and libertarians. O'reilly said he would send his son to military school if he ever caught him smoking pot. How does that old message resonate with the baby boomer replacements?

My post was about the fact that the murdoch sons are going to destroy fox news and I therefore hope a conservative alternative springs up quickly.

As far as the rest of your stupidity - bring your own family into it... not mine.

But, having worked in both New York and L.A. it would be a mistake to not educate your kids about the fact that some people in a position to make or break your career in any industry do try to use that power for sex. Its not just old straight fat guys at fox. Gay guys are famous for it and so are some women in New York.

Alpha males take it for granted their females will be hit on by other men every time they leave the house. Does it concern us at all? Not really.
