Just a "quiz question": what do all these countries have in common?

Brazil, Colombia, Slovenia, Australia, Madagascar, Liechtenstein, Chile and Argentina?

Additional clue: the former country of Czechoslovakia was also qualified for this list, but neither the Czech Republic nor Slovakia is.
 
They all have internet top-level domains that are chemical symbols.

Argentina - .ar - argon
Australia - .au - gold
Brazil - .br - bromine
Chile - .cl - chlorine
Colombia - .co - cobalt
Liechtenstein - .li - lithium
Madagascar - .mg - magnesium
Slovenia - .si - silicon

Czechoslovakia had the domain .cs, shared with caesium, whereas the Czech Republic (.cz) and Slovakia (.ck) lack this property.

That's really interesting. I need to make a quiz like this for my children; I think they'll like it. I had no idea that they might be related.
 
I do not know much about these countries but these kind of questions must be asked in the chit chat section as they are quite engaging topics and people love to answer these kind of questions. Do you people have the interest in general knowledge?
