Why so little size?
As you probably know by now, contrary to public opinion, one of the greatest disadvantages of dollar cost averaging is getting it right from the get go and now you are only producing on a fraction of your capital.
Getting a black swan in SP500, being an index, and with dividends and with dollar cost averaging, is the least of my concerns, achieving returns on a very small portion of the capital, is.
It almost forces you to take heat and load the boat several times to achieve any meaningful returns.
True. Every strategy has times when it works well and times when it doesn't.
Since I am unable to predict direction (otherwise I would've gone long with my entire account instead of with 100 shares of SPY, and would've sold at the high on the 21st), this is the way that works best for me. Of course, if I had actually gone long with my entire account, SPY would've immediately started a down trend!
