A Non-Correlated Strategy Trading Journal That Shows Profit

If you go back to raVar's very first post:

https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...ns-useful-not-risk.294748/page-4#post-4930980

It is abundantly, 100%, clear that he is FOS and a low-end grifter. Yet ET posters who seem reasonably intelligent liked that and subsequent posts, gave him positive feedback, and engaged with this con man. Sig, Dealmaker, and Globalarbtrader liked that first, mostly nonsense mixed with bullshit, post. Many other, actual legitimately professional (e.g. Dinn13, Bone, etc...) essentially welcomed this ersatz "pro" to the forum. WTF???!! I am completely mystified by this. What prevents anyone with over a room-temperature IQ from seeing through raVar's logarrheic, bizarrely formatted, twaddle?
Some of us are gullible, we are desperate to learn how to be better traders. :banghead:

Well I take consolation from the fact that Xela & sockpuppet Lukas V had 99% of ET sucked in, including myself.
What possesses someone to pull the wool is beyond me, must be a sport of some type.
Adds to entertainment though, better than having agro on the board.

I knew Xela was a fraud from the first time I saw "her" posts. But that was because I had already fallen for Anekdoten (and his dozen or so aliases), NoDoji, Cornexforex, Bighog, etc... and eventually figured out on my own none of them were for real. So I knew the game by then. But I was shocked to see a pro like SLE admit he thought Xela may have been for real.

Here are some more good ones from raVar...

We had a strategy we'd love to use. But unfortunately, it uses the YM, and the size we'd need to put on ... WHEN we'd need to put it on? We just can't use that strategy for even a measily $11 million. It scales out at $10 M.

Though we haven't even gotten into the cost of development (I've spent nearly a mill, just myself, in development for this new Firm)

and from his "whitepaper": But truthfully, profitable strategies are almost a dime a dozen

Yeah. The guy’s last video showed him trading 40 shares of Ford at $14. Telling the viewers that it was a real, not sim, account.

I didn't know NoDoji is another one of those. I enjoyed reading NoDoji's posts.

So I looked at the investor and trader blog and there's a timeline of trader progress, originally posted in 2009. Here are some highlights...

2000 - Creditors, although I'm paying them back? Are starting to yank money out of various accounts I have. Blew up account again

2001 -I have to declare Bankruptcy. Trying to pay back the debt, and it just wouldn't work. I naturally take all of my brokerage accounts that had some money in them to $0.00

2003 - I started Trading again. One more big loss that really, really hurt …. I begin to now add $35.00 a week to my trading accounts

2006 - I still tried to work part time as an audit control officer, but finally left after only a few months in 2006. As time passed, I didn't need the money

So let me get this straight..... he was bankrupt in 2001 with "impossible debt", so broke that he could only afford add $35 a week to his accounts in 2003, and didn't need a job by 2006?

@Pigsky,

Maybe I am beating a dead horse, but I re-read some of @NoDoji's posts again last night:

https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/nodojis-day-trading-log.132626/

How could she be a fake? And what was the purpose of making up stories on trading struggles? As far as I could tell she wasn't trying to sell anything to anyone. Here are the comments from @Magna:

https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/nodojis-day-trading-log.132626/page-216

She, Xela, optionsinvestor... were not selling anything as far as I could tell (they never PM me to sell investment, trading courses, ask for money, etc... since I joined ET and I am a prime candidate!). Making up trading stories with nothing to gain is something I find very difficult to understand.

We are here for different reasons, many, like me new to trading, are here trying to catch a few occasional trading nuggets to improve our game. We know there is no free lunch so poured over every posts with a fine tooth comb trying to discover as much hidden wisdoms as we could.

I could tell some pros are here for companionship as trading is a very lonely sport. Others are here to troll, to give everyone a hard time for entertainment. Some to show the world how good they are... And some to sell us newbies promises to riches.

I guess it takes all kind to make it a community.

Best to you.

Someone from ET PMed optioninvestor praising one of his bogus calls and OI replies, “I can do it for you, too!” So yeah, he was scamming with hindsight trades for managed accounts.
