I don't really care if the fricking public sector is running 100% or it's current 83% or whatever it is. The expense is certainly at the 100% level [and rising] so wherever 'ya go, well there 'ya are, no?

With three vacancies in 435 member House, 217 votes are currently the minimum needed for the measure to win approval in the House.

This is a clever ploy by Obama and his media allies but is totally irrelevant. Boehner controls when and if there is a vote. Boehner is Speaker because republicans control the House, just liek Reid is Leader because dems control the Senate. Neithr would keep his post for long if he started rigging votes to allow the other party to prevail on hot button issues.
What the media should be examining is why Obama is so afraid to negotiate. All the republicans are asking for is the same thing Obama illegally granted to numerous groups, waivers or delays in Obamacare. Why is he so hellbent on taking us off a cliff, just to score a political victory.

"WASHINGTON -- WASHINGTON (AP) â Americans are holding Republicans primarily responsible for the partial government shutdown as public esteem sinks for all players in the impasse, President Barack Obama among them, according to a new poll. It's a struggle with no heroes.
"The Associated Press-GfK survey, out Wednesday, affirms expectations by many in Washington â Republicans among them â that the GOP may end up taking the biggest hit in public opinion from the fiscal paralysis, just as that party did when much of the government closed 17 years ago. But the situation is fluid nine days into the shutdown and there's plenty of disdain to go around.
"Overall, 62 percent mainly blamed Republicans for the shutdown. About half said Obama or the Democrats in Congress bear much responsibility."

The algo now uses the 2012 election as the template... being forced to use the assumption the exit polls are reasonably accurate.
The only poll I saw which gave its sample size seemed to oversample independents... which made sense on this issue so if the algo had feelings it would have been pleased by that poll.

The CNN poll results are similar to those from a new Pew Research Center poll also released Monday and surveys from Gallup and CBS News/New York Times surveys conducted last week, which indicate slightly more people blaming - or angry at - Republicans than Democrats or the president for the shutdown.
Not surprisingly, huge majorities of Democrats are angry at the Republicans, and huge majorities of Republicans are angry at Obama and Democrats. Independents are equally angry at all sides, with 59% of Independents very or somewhat angry at the Democrats, six in 10 angry at the GOP, and 58% angry at Obama.
