Interesting statement. I would bet that my track record shows I have a slightly better understanding of the markets than you. Have you made double digit profits 12 years in a row smurfer?

Don't be upset that I embarrassed you with crox. your short @ $48 was way too early, and I immediately said that to you. I told you you'd be stopped out and you were. You should commend me for that alone.

You comment is on the money. Posting "calls" isn't really worth much to the average ET member.

The challenges are still the same.... "where do you enter?", and "what is your risk?" and along the way, "how do you manage the position?"...I think these are the important issues for traders here.

Today's call was a good example. If you had the experience or the method to operate in this chop, you had to make a favorable entry early on or sit on the sidelines. Anything else would have resulted in the trader getting whipsawed out of his position with a loss. I wonder how many ET members actually took a trade today based on this "call". I am guessing very few...

Anybody can "call" the market and walk off. Its a 50/50 chance you will be correct.

From my point of view, there isn't much substance offered, at least not for short term traders trying to learn the business.

Yeah, you're probably right.

FTR, everything I traded was on the short side today, the NQ's started out weak and never really recovered, and they gave me my daily cake very early in the game, so after that I just ran some errands and took care of a lot of business.

It's always nice when things work like that, and it makes for a relatively easy lifestyle. :)

This is place is the next best thing to a trader's bar, so that's why we all come here to play around, I don't take any of it too seriously, and neither does anyone else (I hope). :eek:

You're call was busted today Roshawn, just admit it and move on to the next one, you'll do better.

I follow approx 200 stocks. Any high capitalization stock that is either 1) $90 or higher or is 2) $60 and higher and has high volatility is on my radar.

This includes mostly all the coals, the oils, the metals etc If it's high priced and high volatility, i follow it.

The problem is you couldn't have got long at unch. It gapped up. Are you a real trader?

And again, all the oils and oil service stocks were solidly up today.

Your comment is obviously correct

You and I both know that this is the risk associated with "following" a third party's "market call".

I think at some point you have to come to terms with the situation. Either you know the market and can operate on your own, or you don't.... I prefer to bet on my own skills every day...
