I have to tell you something. I live around here, and I understand the message they were trying to send, but the sculpture is just awful. From no angle anywhere does it remind me of two people in a loving embrace. It's an eyesore.
The Boston Common is THE OLDEST public park in America and the absolute epicenter of the American Revolution.
An argument can be made for all sorts of modern art creations and it is a big country and a big world out there and there are lots of places to try out various expressions. Go for it. But the Boston Common is not one of them and the Boston Common is not the Burning Bush Festival.
What the hell are they thinking? The Boston Common is sacred American turf.
