Good Morning Everyone:
A strange thing happened to me last night: I picked up a chick last night who was a corporate attorney for a Fortune 50 firm by telling her that I was short her firm and, for that matter, most of the Fortune 50 since June. She told me that she found short-selling sexy. (And please, boys, keep it down: she is still asleep in the other room.) Nonetheless, when did short-selling become sexy? When did the average American become aware of selling the market short, let alone finding it sexy?
I believe that this market has found an intermediate-term bottom. The moment a member of Joe-public starts speaking about the short-side of the market, it is time to cover your positions and look to the longside (at least through the US elections....the impact of the FOMC will be minimal).
When I saw major US periodicals advocating investing in things like commodities and overseas markets last winter and spring, I knew it was time to get short just about everything. As many of you know, I am just a pussyhound who ekes out a living in the markets (with a confirmed short-bias even in uptrend times, as painful as those may be
).
But, when a lady tells me that she finds short-sellers sexy, I think only one thing: namely, BUY Mortimer, BUY.
Have a Great Day And Remember To Control Your Risk (ie, tomorrow is another day and losing money wrecks your mojo with the ladies),
