Your probably right, my data on this was old. Romney probably doesnt have the 3-1 number which was projected, especially after September, but he still should have enough to keep up on a 1-1 basis.
The biggest threat he has is people giving up on him, cause once people give up on him, these PACS will switch to funding congressional races as opposed to Romney, that was the disadvantage Romney always faced with most of his money being tied into PACS, which he didnt technically control.
Jimmy Carter was one incumbent that lost, we had terrible inflation, the end of a real estate boom and hostages in Iran. That is how much it took to unseat an incumbent. Bush the elder didn't campaign, that is the reason given by pundits for why he didn't win a second term.
I see the parties as two different versions of socialism. Obama's version is that of the US being the problem with the world and Romney's version is that the US is good for the world. I'm not sure which is true, besides, the POTUS' security clearance is only half the way up the ladder. The POTUS has very little to do with foreign policy, maybe only in the area of funding a war machine or pulling the funding.

True.His only hope is to spend his own money imo.I've read in comment sections of articles that Obama made a deal with shelden adlson not to go after him if he didn't give the 100 million to Romney that he promised.probably bull shit but addelson has not put up the 100 million to defeat Obama as he promised.It could just be that he thinks obama is going to win and don't want to piss him off anymore
Romney might can get back in this thing if he can outspend Obama 3-1 in the final month but he will probably have to come out of his own pocket and convince the billionaires to put up the big dollars they promised months ago

Bush loss because of Perot
