I see your point. I think State Street was simply trying to promote SPY, DIA diversification.Still, they did a pretty slick free picture ad on CNN, with their female banker, on CNN. LOL

What physical constraint for a man to be a registered nurse?

I was responding the women in construction industry specifically, where there is an obvious physical strength requirement. Men who do go into nursing (9%) actually earn more then then women (https://www.census.gov/people/io/files/Men_in_Nursing_Occupations.pdf), so no structural issues there.

If women are better traders and asset managers why do they need someone to pay them salary? Why would someone decide to pay a talented & highly profitable woman lower salary just b/c she is a woman? What business sense does it make?

Because you need capital and market access. It's for the same reason I am working for a multi-billion fund instead of trading out my basement somewhere in the Rocky Mountains.

Nobody really decides that, it's not about business sense, it's about attrition and lack of opportunity. Finance is an apprenticeship and to get to the point where will have an ability to utilize your talents and skills as a trader/AM/PM, you need to rise through the ranks. If you have problems progressing between different stages of your career, you will never get to the stage when you can get paid buckets. True for men too, btw.
