A list of all scam unregulated 3rd party educational vendors

Quote from marketsurfer:

Thanks for the interesting and personal thoughts. However, I vehemently disagree with your premise. A trading tutor MUST be able to trade him or herself. There is no otherway to ascertain competence --otherwise it's all marketing hype, shills or hearsay evidence. Trading can be taught, all one needs to dois look at true prop shop training programs. Do they teach TA or other nonsense like the scores of pay mentors who have no stake inyour success? Very rarely, and if so it's very minor

There are no tests or pedigree required to sell education. The market is the only test.
Beware of anyone who suggests differently.

hank haney and david leadbetter come to mind in the pga, they are sought out by the pro's yet have never won a tournament,a lot of these tutors can give you an accelerated education on the markets, without teaching you how to trade, teaching you how to not trade, what not to do(fixing your golf swing) ,can save you thousands ,millions, once you've learned that, the burden of becoming profitable is on you...not every trader can teach, very few i imagine, they need to provide a course for the newbs on what to look for and what to avoid in vendors, that would be useful, this thread like many on ET has turned into a bash fest, not directed at anyone post

This thread is a waste of time, so this will be it, for me.

No one has proven that Austin is breaking any NFA regulations.

He probably has some satisfied clients and, from what some have said here, some unsatisfied clients. Just like any other business.

Do all businesses that have unsatisfied customers deserve to be called "scams"? I don't think so.

He may be selling something drastically overpriced, but others may find it drastically underpriced, based on how much they have made.

I haven't bought anything from him, so I wouldn't know either way.

But any trader who expects to make a living in this business will have to do his or her own thinking. Therefore, time is better spent working on developing one's own skills (thinking, screen time)than posting nonsense on some entertaining[the real "E" in "ET"], but largely useless, message board.

Now someone please take this thread out behind the barn and put it out of its misery. :-)

Then ignore this thread and move on. Unless you are a vendor and have yet to reveal yourself. Another thing, get a life

So what is the criteria to appear on the list? Since you said "guilty until proven innocent", I assume just to exist one qualifies for the list.

You are probably too dumb to notice, but you are providing an excellent free advertisement for these sites. Since according to ET policy, mentioning them would be spamming, you have found an extremely efficient way to go around moderation and provide them with free publicity (I never even heard most of them) even if it is negative one. One could say there is no such a thing as bad PR, and I am sure lots of ET posters checking out these sites, thanks to you.

And as a sidenote, the nature of trading mentoring is a tricky one. A mentor could teach a completely valid and profitable method and 80% of the students still wouldn't be able to use it, due the psychological reasons. One great example would be when we made YOUR ineffective although profitable method 5-10 times more profitable in the ES thread, and you still stuck to the old method. Obviously somebody doesn't like to make profits.... :)

Absolutely correct. It would be impossible to find a single business entity, trading or otherwise, that doesn't have detractors.

Well stated. However, I would up the 80% to 99%.
