A letter to Trent Lott


I'm not suggesting that slavery is good, but if someone is going to speak up about slavery and what took place, perhaps they should really research it. Not every slave was trying to get up North during that time period. Many of them enjoyed decent lives under the protection of a wealthy plantation owner while others were starving to death.

I'd like to hear his explanation of the above statement.

Perhaps you should really research before you spout off like you have actually done research.
 
It's all BS thats all....why can't we all be like Cubano...tell it like it is and forget about it.....I mean Axel sounded like he had a tissue out dabbing the tears while he wrote this....Just to feel even better, im sure he watched the "color purple" and "boyz n th Hood" over the weekend to prove he cared...It's all BS...he cares no more then anyone else does about this issue and that's why i asked all these bleeding hearts horrifed about Trent if they would have a problem if their sister or daughter brought home Snoop dog for dinner would they feel different....Just to clarify, im not different, im just honest.....I play basketball every sunday with my brothers and shake hands and hug them before and after games.....but if my sister came home with one of them...!!

Don't give me this BS. First of all, slavery isn't just limited to a specific race. There are kids throughout the world in other nations who work all day for a couple American dollars doing things like sewing the swish logo on Nike shoes.

Slavery has existed since the beginning of time and it will continue to exist in some form until the end of time. The poor societies have to "slave" for the upper-crust of society -- the difference being that we have the fortune of choosing who we're going to serve for our daily grind to make a dollar.

My whole point about writing that letter to Lott was to just plainly ask him what his views are. He said soonafter on BET that he does not feel superior to African-Americans. Well, he apologized and he wants to make changes. That's great, I'm all for a man recognizing a mistake and working to correct. Mistakes aren't what make us bad, but recognizing them and failing to correct them are inexusable.

If I was forced to be Snoop's slave, then I guess I'd have to revert back to my primal instincts of how to really make him like me and do a damn good job for him. Again, if I had no choice, then you just make the best of the situation you are faced with.
