‘It’s time to quit the Catholic Church’

'You are an enabler. And it's got to stop.'
Dear 'Liberal' Catholic:

It’s time to quit the Roman Catholic Church.

It's your moment of truth. Will it be reproductive freedom, or back to the Dark Ages? Do you choose women and their rights, or Bishops and their wrongs? Whose side are you on, anyway?

It is time to make known your dissent from the Catholic Church, in light of the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops’ ruthless campaign endangering the right to contraception. If you're part of the Catholic Church, you're part of the problem.

Why are you propping up the pillars of a tyrannical and autocratic, woman-hating, sex-perverting, antediluvian Old Boys Club? Why are you aiding and abetting a church that has repeatedly and publicly announced a crusade to ban contraception, abortion and sterilization, and to deny the right of all women everywhere, Catholic or not, to decide whether and when to become mothers? When it comes to reproductive freedom, the Roman Catholic Church is Public Enemy Number One. Think of the acute misery, poverty, needless suffering, unwanted pregnancies, social evils and deaths that can be laid directly at the door of the Church's antiquated doctrine that birth control is a sin and must be outlawed.

So poverty = needless suffering? So question for you. Is it better to be dead than poor? If so, why dont poor people just kill themselves? Why do the 60% of the world who live on less than $2 per day continue to live is so called "misery" Do you think we should do the poor a favor and kill everyone that makes less than a certain amount of money and "end the misery" If you are for abortion, then you are for that. If you disagree, you are a hypocrite.

jeeze peil. you mind is wacked. we arent even talking abortion. we are talking birth control. the abortion problem would take care of itself if women had easy access to contraceptives.

if you are trying to say that islam and the catholic church have much in common in regards to women, i agree.

Thinking women don't go to church, at least not in America.
Thinking women in Islam countries probably still have to go to church though, sucks for them.

Actually, many of them do. It is used as a social institution nowadays it appears, much like the freemasons and eastern stars. No one actually believes that stuff, but it makes for good connections.

Sorry, I did think you were making a serious point. If ANY woman actually read the bible cover to cover, there would be no women in church.

The churches, all of them, have clearly been a social organization for quite some time. They have preaching schools for a reason. It is in fact, a form of entertainment for many, and a way to engage in sometimes much needed escapism. You can lay your troubles on the altar sunday, but C is still going to sue your ass first thing monday morning, as they know nothing about altars and troubles and miracles and all that.

These cafeteria Catholics are hypocrits and enablers. If you believe homosexuals and women deserve equal rights. If you believe people should be able to use birth control, then to stay in the Church is tantamount to approval of the Church's stone-age dogma. But it's all about selfish reasons that they stay and it makes them just as guilty of these wrongs.
