Told you you wouldn't believe me, even after I said I wasn't him. What prompted your *assumption* was right after the interview thingy. Why? You jealous of someone else having more motivation to better his trading skills than you have? That's all this is really for, to become a better trader.
Jealous, lol, yep. It's too obvious. Ya see, the internet *reveals* who you are, based off the fact that you believe you're completely anonymous here. Therefore who you really are comes out. Because you believe no one is watching then you say exactly what you feel on here, etc. It's real simple. The internet does not hide you, it shows who you really are to other people. Fess up (not to me or us, but to yourself) because part of becoming a better trader is being brutally honest with yourself.
I have pity on those who have as much doubt in your mind as yours, KevinK.

I hate it when ppl assume. Gah, I want so bad to just say you're an idiot but I don't want to hurt you and start a flame war, etc. all that garbage. Oh yeh, I'm "definitely sure" that you're an astronaut just because you PM'ed me! and I'm *definitely* sure that the Euro is going to fly sky high next month to 1.70! *not*
I guess next, you're going to be saying that that Joey guy is Skalpz too impersonating himself, huh? You find it that hard to believe other ppl find Skalpz to be cool since he shares the same amount of intense motivation to constantly become a better trader no matter what. I don't want to attack you, Kevin, but this is kind of rediculous. I hope in the future you spend more time honing your skills in this awesome business, rather than spending your time trying to point out who's a liar and who isn't on Elitetrader.

Yeh, I sent you that PM asking why you disagree with Skalpz because I didn't feel like reading 20 pages of text to find out on my own. I'm not going to post here what you replied back with because those words were intended as a PM and not for public reading.
I think all this was part of the reason why I was hesitant to do any sort of interview in the first place. Because it would give other ppl (strangers) enough to go on that it could be used for attacks or stuff like that. I usually prefer to stick with pure straight factual based question and answer formats on here so that I don't end up wasting my time typing these words out here like I'm doing now. The return of profit on time when typing these words here is 0 .. so why am I even typing this. I need to go and replay some tick data eSignal setups to help train my psyche into keeping the emotions latent. That would be a much better use of my time atm.

Cancellation of Contest
Due to the amount of flaming I get from resident idiots on ET, I am cancelling the forex competition as of today. There will be no more updates.
I would rather not give away ANY of my trading tactics to morons who continuously insult me, lie about me, flame me and twist everything I say: I have better things to do with my trading systems than to give them away to trader slugs.
Sorry for the rest of the members who took an interest in the contest but I am no longer revealing any of my strategies lest resident losers get them and advance.

I haven't been doing so lately because other things have preoccupied my time.
However, we have a special guest today who has graciously agreed to be interviewed.
Joining us now is Mr. Warren Buf... no, no, wait... he is one of the ones who I never heard back from.

In March of 1997. I believe the site actually got rolling a few months later in May.
Yeah, I was trading for living from home and I quickly found out that trading full-time can be a very isolating experience, so I wanted a way to communicate with other traders who were doing the same thing.
The main difficulty back then is the same it is today: building up traffic. Starting any site from scratch is a pain, because nobody knows you exist. And this is especially true for a community site where you really depend on people to interact with each other. When ET first got started I would answer just about any question that got posted on the boards just so people wouldn't feel like they were in a ghost town. I remember people asking certain questions that I didn't have a clue how to answer, so I would research the question using some books I had or by calling some people I knew and then come back with an answer. But my vision from the beginning was to ultimately have a site where most traders would interact with each other without really even knowing I existed. I think it's pretty much at that point now.
The other main difficulty for me was from a technical standpoint. There wasn't much message board software out there back then to choose from and I didn't have any programming background to write my own. I remember going through 3 or 4 programs the first year just trying to find something that was decent. These days, that's not a really an issue though.
Good question. Actually the site started out with one forum: Trading. Once that got rolling, it was easy to see we needed a second forum on Brokers because so many people were clueless about online brokers back then. Later the Software forum got created because there were a lot of questions about trading platforms as well. So basically, I never create forums from scratch just hoping that there will be participation. I hate going to sites like that where you see 30 forums that all have a handful of posts in each of them. I usually just evaluate if there are enough existing threads to justify having a dedicated forum for that particular topic, and then I just sweep those threads into the new forum. For example, we are getting quite a few stock-specific threads in the Trading forum these days so there will likely be a dedicated forum specifically for that type of discussion in the near future.
