A daytrading story on CBS news

gg . Thanks for posting that. I now understand where the heat was coming from, I didn't realize I posted that. Let me apologize......I was not attempting to be antagonistic or mean.......my goal was simply to find out who on this board make good money. If you are not one of them....keep pushing, it will come.
Sometimes I need to go back and read over what I posted. My bad.

I would give up a 90k job to make even 70k trading. That's how much I despise working for someone else. Just buy less stuff and live more peaceful.

I would too! Unfortunately, these days it's more like giving up a $90K job to make -$25K!

Not to brag or anything, but I'm up over 500% for the year.

And yes, I was able to buy a house too. LOL.

Marc

Let's see...starting with $100 K,
at 500% per year over 5 years,

that's $312,500,000.

Must have been SOME kind of house you bought.

:D

Who in their right mind would risk $1,000,000 in capital everyday to make a measly 1/10th of one percent per day?

Marc

Someone who is happy with a 25% return. Someone who is happy with $250,000 a year.

SDTrader,

Good post - some of these discussions fall apart and i'm glad you are willing to pull it back together with an honest statement like this.

FYI, I am not the best trader you've ever seen, not even close, but I do fine. I occasionally have a bad day, but I'm net positive every week.

I thought about prop trading a lot and spoke with several people in your field, but, since I'm focusing on trading futures, leverage is not a big unsolved problem for me. So, I'm still thinking about it.

Mu current focus is what I call my Holy Grail. By that I mean a small set of techniques that can consistently produce gains and be easy to trade. Still working on it... getting closer every day :)

You can hope and pray all you want, but you will never be like me.

Hey Charlie Brown.....

You know why he's called that?, what with your finger in the arr's comment?

Do most traders typically rely on one major technique they
have developed that makes most of their money,
or a bag of tricks they have developed over time?

Traders care to comment?

Axe, most definately a diverse bag of tricks.
These tricks also need to be constantly updated, as they're in a contant state of evolution.

BTW axeman, are you the same axeman who often plays 15/30 hold 'em at partypoker?
