As many as 1 million gang members are believed responsible for as much as 80 percent of crime in America -- and the gangs are spreading across the country, according to a Justice Department gang threat assessment.

Approximately "1 million gang members belonging to more than 20,000 gangs were criminally active within all 50 states and the District of Columbia as of September 2008," the report says.

"Criminal gangs commit as much as 80 percent of the crime in many communities, according to law enforcement officials throughout the nation," the report notes as part of its key findings. "Typical gang-related crimes include alien smuggling, armed robbery, assault, auto theft, drug trafficking, extortion, fraud, home invasions, identity theft, murder and weapons trafficking."

I will concede that the population of angry, young, unemployed men with poor prospects is larger than that of the KKKooks. But the problems associated with having a lot of the former around have been discussed and lamented since before Christ. Every society has to figure out what to do with unemployed young men or risk chaos.

Thanks to this latest crisis of capitalism we have a lot more such men around, so it's little wonder they're "ganging up". It's a survival strategy.

From the pictures, I noticed that they like to associate themselves with
christian symbols. Himmm.. Wonder what Jesus would think of people
who hate other races and religions like Jews and African American? That
idea obviously never seems to occur to them.

I wrote a story about the greatest man that I ever knew. The Hoodooman
was published in Niederhoffer's book entitled "Practical Speculation". This
man had been a negro slave.

Later I worked with one of the most brilliant men that I ever knew and he was a jew.

These were great experiences for me and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Yes there are many bad people in the world but that has nothing to do
with race or religion.

It's the same reason Hitler liked to think of himself as a Catholic even though he was a Pagan. The same reason terrorists think Allah is supporting them. When people commit heinous acts of any kind or advocate violence or hate, they want to "believe" they are right to do so and many of them convince themselves that their God supports them. It's called being delusional. You do know these are crazy people right? LOL.

Ricter, during the booming 90's under your boy Clinton with 4% unemployment, these people were still committing these crimes. Or wait, did you think the south side of Chicago was safe then? LOL. Come on dude, you are running out of excuses. Stop defending it and start focusing on how to fix it.
