Good morning to all of you!
Sorry I can't be specific. In comparison to IB I pay higher fixed fee and lower transaction fees. And yes, commissions are still a major factor, so yes, I am still overtrading. I managed to bring my amount of rt's down a lot though.
Over- or undertrading seems to me to be just as much of a strategy issue as it is a commission issue. In order to slash commission costs you could go down to one trade a year, but if you're a winning shorter term trader, it's obvious you would be undertrading. It's all in the balance. (the same with choosing your broker, a full service, full price one might be perfect for a position trader).
Yesterday, while reading "the intuitive trader" an intuitive insight came to me; lately I gave myself a daily goal of +- 10 points, while leaving myself a vague stoploss for the day. Now I thought this would be the same as cutting your winners and letting your losers run. So I changed my daily stoploss to 10 points, and leaving the profit open.
The bunds already traded 40k! High 44, low 34, open 43. I leave that contract for when I am more settled, but it seems like a good morning play!
