A 70k bet that I can't make a 50% gain in 2009

Whenever I can sneak into chat, I love to follow geez's trades (and to annoy him about the Caps ;)).

I admire traders w/strong discipline and being forced to juggle both trading and working like geez is, I can only hope to learn as much as possible from him.

Keep up a good work and today's just a bad day

Anthony Toney...ah, I mean BostonKiller,
I had a great 3 week run and anyone who has been on a streak knows they don't last forever. No worries about today...the only thing may be overtrading, but I tend to overtrade every monday...all hyped to trade after the weekend.-G

OP: have your results been audited? Just sayin' that everrything you've written is hot air if there hasn't or won't be an audit.

5/18/09:

Total P/L -1,290.58
6 trades
6 losses

* You have no idea how much I wish today was hot air.

mods: please put this thread in chitchat ... it is total crap.

Hello doli,

Your comment appears to be not only harsh but also based on a lack of information or effort on your part.

Its what your post DOESN'T say that impresses me. you didn't say you took his setups which Geez talks about in full detail and showed us that they are different than the trades Geez posts.

You didnt say you spend time watching Geez trade and what he says while trading is different than what he posts in his journal.

As I have said before I get a front row seat day after day of hearing Geez call out his trades day after day, week after week I can say that geez is a rare item in that he CAN trade. He trades well and we are lucky to have him take time out of his day to be willing to share his journey with us.

I post and read in the PnL journal most everyday and I don't recall seeing your handle there. I would like to welcome you to post your results with blotter so you too can have as much respect as geez has.

Thanks Geez for showing one more way to 'catch the mouse'

Respectfully,

RW

Well, thank you Mr Weinstein for the kind words....
But I actually started this thread so The "Flamers" of the trading world could join along and watch me. If you read my very first post on this journal it is stated right there.
Then people started asking what I traded and why...
I have no problem telling people what trades I take or why I take them. I never once tried to be a professional trader and I think most know that I work( well, it's called work) fulltime during the trading day as well.
People started asking me what I look for in trades and it kind of expanded from there. I think most will tell you that I try to explain in detail any question anyone has about my trades.

Now for the flamers (no jeg, this is a different kind of flamer)....
As I said, I started this journal as a way to invite all the critics of trading along for the ride,
Unlike others who use their journals for what that exactly means...a journal....I am more than willing to let this one turn in to a flame fest. I am by no means a professional trader, and the guys (and gals) who continue write very sincere and professional journals don't really derserve the hate.
So, doli...please invite all your friends to this journal....I welcomed it from Day 1...maybe then the respected traders that linger around can be left to do what they intended to do in the first place.-G

Hey, senor prophet.....

If you see so much why didn't you tell me to stop shorting today??...some prophet you are....one trick pony!..hehehe

Geez,I've just examned some of the stocks you've mentionned,on their daily charts.I see your point....For example,RIMM is in downtrend and has already formed a pullback,or corrective bar, which you intend to short,if it triggers of course....

3 questions please, although they will maybe be answered by your tonight setup patterns:

1. Reffering to the daily chart,do you have an exact definition for a "trend" and its direction,or you depend upon your visual judgement?
2.The same question for the "pullback".Do you have an exact definition?
3.Regarding Rimm, for example.I know that you'll be watching an intraday 5-min chart.Do you intend to short the low of the daily bar,if it triggers,or you'll be searching for a similar pullback in the intraday chart, regrdless of the violation of the daily bar's low.

Thanks in advance

Andreas

Andreas,
Sorry for the delay.....I go Sailing this weekend with 4 guys and now all I seem to attract is flamers......
Ok,
1. I LIKE to see higher highs and lows when defining a trend, but I don't have it set in stone. I use visual alot to determine what I think the stock will do next (basically the whole premise of trading)
2.I do not have a definition of a pullback, but if I am looking to go long I really don't want the stock if it does a 100% (or close) retracement of the last move up. I do not use any stochs or macd when trading, so I don not have exact numbers that I follow. I really don't even see the MA's anymore. I just trade off the bars.
3. If I were to Swing trade RIMM (look to enter it for a multiday short) that is exactly what I would look for, the break of the prior days low. But I rarely hold overnight, so I base all my entries on the intraday charts.
Let me know if that explained your questions..-G

Why do you still work when you have the ability to trade successfully? Do you just like your job a lot? This isn't an attack by the way, I've been following this thread for a while as a lurker and it's been really useful so far. It's rare for a successful trader to share so much information (at least for free) and I really appreciate your efforts.
