Wait a minute.
If you've EVER rec'd a 1099 form listing you as an Independent Contractor, you're not eligible for State or Fed Un. bennies, EVER?

That is so ! Unless you have other W2 job that makes you qualify.

Breaking story on Monday, I presume. Should make for nice trading.

If somebody runs out of legs, are we pulling arms, then fingers and toes?

HUH? If 20% of the US population is applying for a job clerking in the SCOTUS, we've got more mental patients than we can shake a stick at.

For Example:

Mills Lane – retired boxing referee

Qualifications: TV judge

Landmark Rulings: Guy Who Couldn’t Get On Judge Judy v Lady Who Couldn’t Get On Judge Judy. Lefty v Righty, Merlot v Chianti.

Potential confirmation problem: Trademark phrase of “Let’s get it on” could possibly stoke the already awkward sexual tension between Justices Scalia and Thomas.

I admire people who have this condition you list above

This endless unemployment scam is an outrage.

I'm not getting any of this free money but I'm paying for these deadbeats to collect.

Make em work for the state doing infrastructure work. That or let them starve.

Employers pay federal and state unemployment compensation taxes, not employees.

... then governments raise unemployment compensation taxes... then companies need to pinch their budgets... so they cut back on bonuses and raises to employees.
