9 Reasons Why America Is a Terrible Place to Raise Kids

again, how is this related to this thread again? So, if all is true you claim then the German economic output and quality of products should be lauded, no? After all most such products may have been manufactured by illiterates...:p

What percentage of your German High School went to a 4 year university in Germany?

Let me give you the 1960 answer... it was 4%. Has this percentage increased, I hope so. At any rate I will bet it is much lower percentage than the U.S.

there we go again: Tsingtao following me around, adding ZERO value to the thread and only looking to cause discontent. Another day, another thread. Bravo.

No, no, little man :) You're in my dungeon now. P+R is my home....welcome to hell.

I do not live in South East Asia, were you not schooled by a Frenchman that there is a distinction between South East Asia and East Asia? :) And to enlighten you, I received my college and grad school education in the US, both most likely at better institutions than you potentially attended, if you ever set foot into an academic locale.

Ah, I stand corrected. "South East Asia".

As for diplomas, we could always make a monetary wager on that if you'd like.

I do think it's funny, however. All these negative US comments, but you supposedly came here for the education.

This one is your disciple, you don't even recognize your own anymore Tsingtao? He loves his and your country so much he would make hoops through endless stupidity to come out on a self-proclaimed top.

Another member of the volpunter fan club.

Welcome, gwb!

Wait, which negative US comments? I have praised the US for its top schools from the very beginning of this thread. I have simply concluded that the linked article is 100% spot on correct, ignoring all the political blame game. I like your country, Tsingtao, but fact is that most in your country are obese, one step away from personal financial disaster, a large number is lining up for food stamps, a significant number of people do not have sufficient heath care coverage, nor are they adequately prepared, financially, for retirement. But they lived a good life, spending most they have in their pockets. That is nothing to ridicule, I in fact have the highest respect for such way of life, though I do not personally immitate it. It is a country that rewards the hard working and currently sits lopsided in that it does not afford much opportunities to those anymore that start off a low base but protects all those at the top. So, one must be honest and truthful.

I cannot argue with any of this, except that "most people" are obese. I think that's a bit overstated, even if there are a ton of fatties. I think obesity rate in the US was something like 35%? At the top of the world, but clearly not most of us.

The rest of it is spot on.

Thank you. My politics and "agenda" (whatever that is) are irrelevant to whether or not the thoughts expressed in the article are supportable or not. If it comes as a surprise to anyone that the middle class is struggling, he should perhaps read something in addition to ET.
Yeah, income inequality has gotten tremendously worse under Obama.
