Precisely! Easy as cigarettes. What a joke.
This was said with a bit of sarcasm, I am sorry you missed it. I did not obviously meant it is the same thing. This was a comparison to NYC process.

Correct, but most of such people, as bad as they are, are not lunatics/mass shooters that go on killing rampages.
Once again, it is MY OPINION ONLY, not inflicting it on any one. Apart from reversing 2nd amendment, all we can really do is make gun purchases a lot more harder, thus "HOPEFULLY" deterring lunatics. Would not have helped in Sandy Hook case, probably would have prevented Parkland.
Would love to hear your suggestions, apart from keeping status quo or arming teachers. As we saw in Santa Fe, it did not really help.

You are a liar. And like the scummy leftist you are, you're doubling down. Before calling me a lair, read my post. I did not say there is no check, but it a total light weight when compared, for example, with NYC check.

The process to buy something as serious as a gun, should not be as easy as buying a pack of cigarettes.
I call bullshit again. Your "comparison" is an old leftist tactic meant to stir up the emotions of the ignorant and uninformed. This was said with a bit of sarcasm, I am sorry you missed it. I did not obviously meant it is the same thing.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, and I commend you on stating it as such. All I'm asking is to not make commentary that is blatantly false. If you aren't familiar with existing laws, say such.
I've stated how I believe some real corrections on gun laws could be made several times, but once more for posterity.
1. Raise the minimum age for all firearms not considered a "hunting rifle" or "shotgun" to 25. Hunting rifles and shotguns can be owned at 21. No one under 21 gets to own any gun. Military active duty included. You surrender your gun (if under 21) when returning home and get it back when you deploy.
2. No more transfers unless they occur at a police station or licensed FFL. No more third party sales without either one of these taking place. If someone commits a crime with a weapon you sold them, and you didn't sell it to them prior to this rule, you are liable for criminal and civil penalties. If you transferred them prior to the law change, you have 90 days to inform law enforcement of that fact.
3. National reciprocity on concealed carry. Criminals are less likely to attack when they are unsure the victim is armed.
4. Concealed carry to require significant training before you get your CCW. Not just this bullshit about "you have to fire one bullet downrange". Annual course taking requirements to ensure you refresh your training and knowledge.
5. A task force of ex military veterans employed in the school system with training to deal with active shooter scenarios. Have to be a vet or officer of the law, have to have passed an Active Shooter training course. Annual requirements for training.
I am fine with all of these.

And now for a lesson in perspective.
Between the 1999 Columbine High School massacre and the 2018 Santa Fe High School shooting in Texas, more than 214,000 students experienced gun violence at 216 schools, and at least 141 children, educators and other people were killed and another 284 were injured.
141 dead over a 19 year period. That doesn't approach a three month period in Chicago. One city. Add up all the inner city violence and tens of thousands have been killed over that 19 year stretch. Where's the outrage? Yes, mass killings are horrible, but pale in comparison to the day by day, week by week, month by month slaughter that goes on year after year in cities around America. The remedy to address mass killings and the weekly slaughter in the cities are entirely different. Weapons bans will not deter either. Really tough laws that are actually enforced will. What does that mean? Mass incarceration and death penalties, that's what. Watch black leadership and the left piss and moan about that, and then you'll see why the problem prevails. Lesson concluded.
