So true. Not only in the US, but everywhere in the world, like in Germany where I live. It is rampant amongst youth, especially. They just never learned to save money. My generation (I'm 30) doesn't save a penny; if there's money left at the end of the month, people go to restaurants, cinemas or even casinos and spend it. Great idea!

How much is the median wage in the US? Something like 100,000 ? In Germany it's a whopping 15,000 after tax. So even if we wanted to - we'd never be able to save money as easily as you. And now go and talk to somebody from Thailand or Africa...
