60 years of socialism has destroyed Europe

Hogwash! Inflation isn't the cure to ANYTHING! What appears as an "inflation cure" is just an analgesic which results in a greater pain somewhere/sometime else.

"The US needs a lot of inflation to cure it's headache. I believe it will play out like 20% for a couple of years followed by a year or two of 100%... You can flesh out that scenario for yourself..."

your cure is the voodoo economics of the peronists and every left wing dictatorship in south america in the 80's and 90's.
where does your dribble come from?
do u have any idea what inflation does to the middle class.
the cure is a hard currency. with a hard currency people can conduct
without trying to game the system because of currency manipulations.

soooo.... Socialism is not the problem it's the debt.. and they don't have military expenses that require borrowing... so they borrowed for social programs, no? Social programs are Socialism afaik, so their underlying, root problem is Socialism... or did we all miss something somewhere?

if you say so.

Quote from Scataphagos:

Medical care is NOT A RIGHT... IT'S A GOOD. "Freedom of Speech", "to bear arms", "to peacefully assemble".. THOSE ARE RIGHTS! Medical care is NOT a right! Neither is "free tuition", nor "a good middle-class wage where you basically loaf around and get paid big bucks thanks to the legalized extorion power of a union"...

Suggest Libtards and OWS-ers get their collective HEADS OUT OF THEIR ASSES AND LEARN THE DIFFERENCE!

Just because you WANT something... something which must be paid for by somebody else so that you can have it "for free"... doesn't make it a right.

You OWS whiners and Libtard suck-tits are a REVULSION to anyone who has strived for personal success and accepted the responsibility for his own financial life.

EAT SHIT AND DIE.. YOU GREEDY WASTE OF HUMAN SKIN, LIBTARD, "WANT SOMETHING FOR NOTHING" BASTARDS!!

RAT Alert!

Actually seeing the 40% depreciation in USD values vrs other currencies in last 10 years tells us that 'slow devaluation' is the strategy adopted to clean out the debt.

There is no other alternative available that would NOT create chaos and riots on the streets.

US preaches 'shock thearpy' on other nations regarding economic and political issues but chooses 'slow surgery' for its own. Might is Right I guess but only in the short run.

:D

no other alternative? how about letting the freemarkets determine prices and create an equilibrum and then let the economy move on?

no wonder the US is sliding towards becoming a 3rd world shithole.

careful. i never said that. please retract. quite the opposite.

Free medical for population is not socialism. It is a human right.

:D  :p

No it's not. Food, housing, and health care are not human rights, as they can only be guaranteed by stealing them (or the money to pay for them) from somebody else. The Constitution wisely only enumerates rights that do not require that the government act as a thief.

Basically capitalism got exported to China where there are people willing to work hard. We imported socialism thru illegal immigration and glamorizing of lazy European entitlement lifestyles. Whatever political and economic system merely reflects the personality of it's people.

Europe's real problem: Lack of growth
By Fareed Zakaria, CNN

If the Greek crisis morphs into an Italian crisis - Italy being too large to bail out - the entire structure of post-World War II Europe could unravel.

Finally, European leaders seem to recognize that their strategy of kicking the can down the road has not worked.

The result will not be a dramatic solution - that is not how Europe works - but, more likely, a series of steps that together will be more comprehensive than anything done before.

But they will not address Europe's core problem: a lack of growth.

Italy's economy has not grown for an entire decade. No debt restructuring will work if it stays stagnant for another decade.

Even Germany is not immune, with an average growth rate of only 1.5%. That's not much of an engine for Europe.

The fact is that Western economies - with high wages, generous middle-class subsidies and complex regulations and taxes - have become sclerotic.

Now they face pressures from three fronts: demography (an aging population), technology (which has allowed companies to do much more with fewer people) and globalization (which has allowed manufacturing and services to locate across the world).

If Europe - and, for that matter, the United States - cannot adjust to this new landscape, it might escape this storm only to enter another.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the result of 60 years of socialism.

Look, Europeans suffered a lot with the two world wars and embarked upon this programme of socialism to "relax" and "take it easy". Unfortunately it has spawned an entire generation where hard work and productivity is all but a foreign concept. Now they have to suffer the consequences. You cannot eat without WORK.

from UK to Greece, that entire continent is in the gutter.

still want to follow in Europe's socialist footsteps, USA?
