If for real, you can compare the US expansion after the civil war, which is very similar to USSR in strucutre, and perhaps even worse, some would argue, "land grabbing to form a new state from sea to sea", by an Indian professor I recall, killed the natives who resisted.
The Brits and the old Europreans, on the other hand, just took resources and shipped back to home land because of the race superiority complex, incorporated as conolnies and later formed comonwealths, didn't kill as much of the natives because the populations are cheap and productive labors and good markets to sell their high end products.
It is a big and painful subject, I don't want to name names but my grade school in UK got renamed because it was funded by a slave trade owner few years back, it is not a joke, probably coming to US Ivy near you soon.
