While trading the trial account I happened to trade 15 contracts but you’re out with 4 ES points which is a small margin for error.

Made 5-10K daily profits but it’s not worth the risk !

I prefer to size less, get a bigger margin for error and shoot for more points both sides.

Stay strong for your goal.
Get rich slowly is the best way to get there.
TST is an awesome opportunity I believe for the broke but disciplined trader.

In the end it’s better to under bet than to over do.

Stay in the game is rule #1 !

By starting small you can average down and stay safe. At worst get out at break even.

Rule #2 Don’t lose money !

Take care of the downside and the upside will take care of itself ;)

Rule #3 Always reverse !

This. That. This. That. Keep your enemies close.

In conclusion:
I’d rather use more contracts to diminish downside (as a risk management tool) than to increase upside (as a profit maximization tool).

Your rules are good. To me Rule #1 is the most important. Always live to fight another day and don't blow out your account over a few trades with big size.

Preservation is key.
I’ve blown up so many accounts and felt like shit.
Everything you’ve done’s just gone in 1 bad operation.
There’s hope until you stay in the game. Debug your process. Improve.

Sure I know for the scaling part. I don’t feel like it’s a problem. They won’t force me to enter a 15 contracts trade as this is Max contracts.

But thanks for the reminder, It would be stupid to fail the combine for trading more contracts than allowed.

Might just take a little longer with the scaling plan to achieve the combine. Hopefully I’ll be done before the monthly billing.

Good read and info you are putting up, keep it up, I'll be following along your journey while also working on mine. Also read your other thread you were posting on before entering the combine, results look pretty great. Hope you meet your goals, definitely seem to have your head in the right place.

Yeah I'm in Canada and was able to trade crude oil this morning before break in trading. Up $250ish for day 1. Day 2 is now live for me, 1 trade up $100ish. Feeling it all out and easing in, I've traded options before but been years, and the last 6 months I've been trading bitcoin futures... super roller coaster ride. Partly why I thought I'd give Topstep a try, I liked the idea of having tight parameters set on me if I want to level up. I kind of need that discipline. Already like the platform as well much more than the crypto futures markets I was on. The performance report is slick, I'm a sucker for graphs and charts and stats (accounting & finance background). As well the ability to set a bracket with the stop loss and limit automatically for each order is exactly what I need, the times I got rekt on crypto futures was because I wouldn't set a stop loss and save myself.

I'll be following along, good luck!
