$6.99 for a jar of Helmans Mayonaise

Yet ... much less than ECB and especially BOJ:-

fed balance sheet is different from the handouts, no?

the handouts were running the printing press. The fed is acting like a bank, lowering the cost of funds but not permanently changing the amount of funds.

Time to make your own mayo... It's healthier anyway. And stop overeating. Why can't you eat a sandwich without mayonnaise?? :) It's just beat-up egg with vinegar. Think about the starving children in Africa. They haven't been eating enough for years. Economists will tell you inflation is the natural way to deal with the scarcity of resources so stop whining. Now eat your plain mayonnaiseless sandwich and be grateful that your sandwich cost you just $10.
Maybe I can catch my own tuna in between baking bread and gardening (whatever it is) they make relish out of too.

If you're trading and worried about the price of a jar of mayo... you're in the wrong business.
Hey, I could care less, I'm just making an observation because I can swear the last time I bought one it was like $3.99ish. As a rule, I don't do the shopping.
I am all about name brands though.
Tide, Brawny, Star-Kist.... I won't touch that off-brand stuff. I did buy the $1 tuna for Muttley though. I hope she doesn't get Mercury poisoning. Star-Kist was $1.75. And I swear the cans got smaller.

Honest question: what's the difference between no brand $1 tuna and the branded $2 cans? I don't eat canned tuna or any canned fish for that matter, so no idea...

I too am a name brand snob. I also buy organic when at all possible, and I like buying direct from farmers and at farmer's markets. Most of the American supermarket is toxic.

And I second @destriero. Don't buy $1 tuna. Dogs are people too. In today's world, most dogs are better people than most people.

I don't pretend to educate Americans at eating, you guys are an example of how not to eat. Just saying that if you have to pay for something that you can make in ten minutes you deserved to be charged a lot more, maybe you will stop doing it.
I make my own also. Herb d'Provence or smoked hot paprika are my two mains. One of the simplest things to make, it just takes skill.
