$52k gone from my IB account. What next, sue IB?

The above was supposed to be my last post on this thread but I still can't move on.
More than 2 months after the incident, more than 2 weeks after my agreement with IB and I still don't have any compensation, even though IB stated that I could see the compensation in my account the same week.
IB, this is absurd.

Zzzap,

That must be really frustrating.

Be sure to keep any documentation of your agreement. (I really hope your compensation was close or above the 52K)

Keep us posted.

Best,

AZD

If they made a deal with you, and you have it documented in email, I am sure they will keep their promises, even though unusual situations like refunds sometimes move very slowly through the bureaucracy.

I'm not worried about them not giving the compensation. It's just taking too much time already, costing me money in opportunity cost and them in lost commissions.

IB is at its best, and shows it greatest strengths, when everything functions the way it should, which is almost all of the time. IB shows its weaknesses in its responses to situations where something goes wrong. I stay with IB because I think the strengths outweigh the weaknesses, but I sympathize, because dealing with the weaknesses is not fun.

zzzap, I total empathize with you. I was also promised a refund albeit for a much smaller sum of money but a much more definitive error on IB's part (which is funny considering that the refund is contingent on me accepting that there was no error on IB's part - haha, I have the screen shot to prove it). This company has a long way to go with brokerage risk being as high as it is with them. Please keep us posted on any developments

BTW, are you looking for another broker or plan on staying with them?

I agree, but the difference between good thing and great thing is in details.
The difference between good thing and so-so thing is in details too.

The compensation showed in my account just today. Now I can finally focus on trading again.

we want to know how much

So it would be inappropriate to ask if a release of claims was part of the deal? :D

Glad things are resolved.
