I hear too that the inspectors were there to verify the destruction of the admitted WMD he has - not to find them. Saddam decides the "inspectors" are no longer welcome - in spite of the UN resolutions - one is left to conclude - not all the WMD were destroyed as promised.

If you actually knew anything about the stuff you would know that:

1) Using it in a defensive posture is useless. If the wind changes, your fucked. You gave up the advantage of mobility when you dug in.

2) Degradation of the stuff in UV radiation under desert conditions makes it a bad choice to use on an advancing enemy. That's the number 2 biggie why it wasn't used during Iraq Episode I.
