5 year old playing Mozart

I find Mozart incredibly boring but that is kid is unbelievable. I love Yuja Wang playing Debussy as a little kid but I think she was 9 and that kid is way beyond that at 5.

I feel bad for the kids who are going to have to compete in piano competitions with him.

There's only one dubious bit about this kid. He is playing off of muscle-memory. There's no sheet music. Great pianists can read sheet music of any composer and play well. Piano PLAYERS do it from memory.
 
Hard to blame that kid for not sight reading when he is too young to even read a book though.

Baby Yuja playing Debussy Arabesque is still my fav when it comes to kids. Actually my fav performance of the piece in general. Brings an innocence to the performance that is just so fitting.


If you don't know who that is, she basically grew up to be one of the most fire breathing virtuosos on piano who has ever lived. Really beautiful too:

Personally, I only really listen to Yuja, Sviatoslav Richter and Monique Haas for Ravel/Debussy. Not really possible to top Yuja and Richter IMO.

Maybe Alberto would have a shot at that level if he continues to grow but of course it is hard to stay motivated to improve when that great at 5. It is a huge mountain to climb

The young guy has chances to become a top 20 interpreter.
For me best Mozart ever is Horowitz, favorite is K488.
Best living pianist Olafson, definetely 80 per cent gould, that is not bad

Apart would put Pollini as Mozart interpreter, he get the spiritual part netting away the joyful ADHD dopaminic surprises from the composer
