5 Reforms To Gun Laws That Would Actually Make A Difference

So you're saying no felons own firearms because the law says they can't ,

ok.

I get that you want to back peddle from your ignorant first comment of "pedos shouldn't be allowed to own guns", but they aren't allowed to own guns. Your comment was uninformed, like it is most of the time.

If the law already bans felons from owning firearms, what NEW LAW do you propose to stop felons from owning firearms?

Criminals who use a non-registered firearm while committing a violent crime should automatically get an additional 10 years in jail, and the gun should be destroyed (unless it is stolen and returned to its rightful owner).

Note to exGOPer - the above is an example of a personal assertion rather than the quoted text of an article.

Background check is fine for those issues. But everyone else has a right to own guns without registration. This is a constitutional right---Both concealed and open carry are constitutional rights--- "keep and bear"----they don't mean in a safe at home only

Ok, but guns have to be registered. Registering the gun doesn't stop people to own guns. Certain state laws that prevent concealed carry - those are unconstitutional, I will agree.

See there we go, thats a logical idea I like that, its too logical though so the left would never go for it , they would claim that adding prison time doesnt fix the problem.

Ive actually seen liberals on t.v. make the argument before that while crime is going down dramatically more and more people are in prison, and the argument is that there is no need for these long prison sentences, because crime is down, as if the fact that more gangbangers are in prison is not the exact reason why crime rates are down.

You must qualify any statements about gun ownership being a right of the American people not connected with militias by stating “since 2008.” Prior to DC v Heller private gun ownership was states rights issue.
Wrong. The right for the individual to bear arms has been there since it was written.

The ruling was clarification of the individual right to bear arms. The constitutional right was always there.

No. This country operated for more than 200 years under the premise private gun ownership was states issue.

This was not a clarification, this was a landmark decision. If you read the ruling you will see that.
