i realize this is biased from snowflakes in california; but the part that has truth in it is the "costs of getting and maintaining oil, et al. the reason i bring this up is because you keep reiterating costs of batteries and their life (which is highly disputable in itself)

Switch to Algea, then your using Algea produced oil to transport/refine then the entire process becomes sustainable and carbon neutral.

We can't keep pumping oil out of the ground for ever. And its used for plastics, rubber, lubrication, fertaliser, Algea produced oil can replace all of these solar and batteries can't, you just move from pumping it to growing it pretty much.

all algae tech is great ; but way early. right now the smarter guys than we are think the most effective way to transport most efficiently is battery.

keep in mind, and i would ask some of you guys interested; to review the much overlooked "reduced moving parts" issue that goes beyond simple battery vs fuel battle. as i mentioned earlier; those of you with electric machine manufacturing experience should concur with me on that.

Last time I learned there are about 20,000 to 30,000 parts for conventional cars.

Only about 5,000 to 6,000 parts for electric cars.

Just don't know how many parts for hybrid cars.

w/o resorting to google; i would think most parts of all for hybrid. you're doing 2 separate propulsion units.

i realize an existing manufacturer has massive amounts invested in combustion; so easing out of it through hybrid has some common sense attached. just keep in mind though; all these companies finally giving in (even Porsche doing so says a lot) must clue you all in to what is truly better for "the people".

one of my bias's is to give it to the mideast hard, and to mechanics who keep trying to fix your car by guessing until they get it.

Silicon battery firm 1414 Degrees ignores Tesla, Snowy Hydro blitz for IPO

Dr Moriarty said he had redone rough comparisons with Tesla after founder Elon Musk dropped his company's grid scale battery price to $US250 per kilowatt hour, and said 1414 Degrees' silicon devices will be able to supply 1000 MWh of electricity for the $97 million he estimates it would cost Tesla to deliver 100MWh over 25 years.

Silicon battery could be the determinant factor for EV, due to its low cost and high performance (quick charge and lasting longer).

Better Batteries have been coming for 10+++ years and yet nothing as actually hit the market yet, it's stalled massively on Lithium, cause they can't mass produce, they take too long to charge, they don't last many cycles, they can't put out the wattage and maybe even a few of those.

Algea, we all get to drive V8's into the sunset for ever, we get to drive 400miles between fill ups which take less than 5mins, vrooooom vroooooom!!!

there are entire manufacturers converting to electric...maybe hybrid combo..but end game is electric (see volvo)

Its a change I don't want, Algea is a better fix total replacement for pumping oil lot of the ground, not just vehicle wise, you could build power stations next to the plants bang sustainable electricity, what does it need to grow? Sunlight and CO2.
