5-10K account day trading ES futures - Any broker recommendations?

That's a joke, right? In a fast market,

How often is the market fast? 10% or less of the time? You haven't provided an argument against a losing trader eventually losing the 25K and just making more profits for the broker. You believe that type of trader miraculously will turn around after 12K loss and make it back and more?

Also in a fast market the trader will make profits fast too. But obviously in volatile markets stops need to be increased or leverage decreased. Duh!

Additionally, one of the sponsors of this site, TopStepTrader also thinks that 5K is plenty because that is how much they give to their funded traders (contrary to what they claim).

If TST with their 200 years of trading experience thinks that a 5K* account is enough, so am I!! :)

*Some of their accounts are even less like 2K

That's a joke, right? In a fast market, such as after news, ES can move 3 points faster than you can point/click.

In addition to what Pekelo said, I'll say you're making quite a lot of assumptions.

I was only making a simple example. Maybe I don't trade during fast markets? Or maybe I decrease position size during those periods? I certainly don't trade around news releases as often it's gambling to do so.

Anyway, would appreciate more broker recommendations. I'm considering simply going for IB and paying for NT.

Expecting Al-Qaeda to give you a courtesy call before their next attack?

Fills are usually decent on market stop orders with smaller size in the ES. It's a vastly different market than say crude oil or other thinner markets.

I have thousands of hours of market experience by now, so I don't need any lectures on this, but thanks for the heads up. :)

Crude oil is thin? Hmm, I think not. I get in and out of markets like forward months on MGC and NQ, and have no problem with limit orders. Heck, I'm in a long on March YM right now. Look at it's volume. If it hits my target, the limit order will fill, no problem. As you said, smaller size!

Understood.

There are many options available to you, such as the new TT. This could be used as a desktop or web-based.

Would be more than happy to explore that or alternatives if you gain contact. In General, this is what we offer:

Could I trade through Ninjatrader with you? Alternatively, I could pay for Ninja on my own even. I'm not too eager on learning a new platform now.

I had decided to pretty much go for Interactive Brokers, but their margin requirements are too high, IMO.

We typically require $25,000 for a futures account. I might be able to do $10,000 but it would require permission. You would have to use RealTick to get our lowest rate of $0.60/side.

Bob

I'm interested. Could I use Ninjatrader with you?
