What is your point?
The OP says his father's accident made him realize that money is a trivial consideration when balanced against the life of his father.
The guy Span quoted said when his life was threatened by a mugger with a knife but it changed his focus not so much. He was STILL primarily concerned with money. Span worries about money incessantly himself, so he identified with the guy.
Span is a KID.
I believe that a lot of the course stuff that Span says here is in the course of trying to prove he is one of the mates.
He is also uncomfortably frank about his fear and his sense of entitlement.
He has not yet learned that people do not write about their fear because to do so makes other fearful people attack and mock him to gain some emotional distance.
Granted this has him looking like a prat and brilliant infant with low morals who would not reflect well on his family and upbringing and would greatly benefit from a tour in the military to dry him out and teach him to honor his commitments and discipline himself.
But who knows what he is really like?
In general Span is rarely sarcastic often very patient and helpful. and hardly EVER mean,
often right about oil, and always entertaining.
Span IS a bit jealous of BlackJack6's success, but remember that BJ6 is not alone. He has his dad's friend who "makes ridiculous money" to advise him.
He is a brat but who was not at 20? He has the potential to grow up someday a Kipling man if he gains some honor and composure.
However the pic posted IS gratuitous and says more about tool having too much time on his hands than anything about Spanish.
